A massive 300-km traffic jam stranded lakhs of pilgrims heading to Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, with vehicles halted across Madhya Pradesh. Eyewitnesses reported being stuck for over 48 hours, moving just 50 km in 10-12 hours. Police in Katni, Jabalpur, Maihar, and Rewa stopped vehicles to prevent further congestion at the MP-UP border. Authorities coordinated with Prayagraj officials and provided food and water for stranded travelers. Videos of the gridlock flooded social media, with netizens calling it the "world’s biggest traffic jam." The Maha Kumbh, which started on January 13, has drawn over 40 crore visitors.
