Video: Passenger Jet Collides With US Army Helicopter Near Washington, Crashes Into Potomac River

A PSA Airlines Bombardier CRJ700 jet carrying 60 passengers collided midair with a US Army Sikorsky H-60 Black Hawk helicopter near Reagan National Airport, crashing into Washington’s Potomac River. The flight, operating as American Airlines Flight 5342, was approaching from Wichita, Kansas, when the incident occurred around 9 PM local time. All takeoffs and landings at the airport have been halted as rescue operations continue. Kansas Senator Roger Marshall called the crash a “nightmare” and prayed for victims. The US Army confirmed three soldiers were aboard the helicopter. The FAA and NTSB have launched investigations into the collision.
