Washington D.C. residents celebrated the year’s first major snowfall with the "Great Meridian Chill" snowball fight at Meridian Hill Park. Organized by the D.C. Snowball Fight Association, hundreds gathered, including children, professionals, and even a polar bear-costumed participant. The event, fueled by 4-8 inches of snow, turned into a lively battle with participants stockpiling snowballs and improvising teams. The polar bear, representing Special Olympics D.C., highlighted an upcoming charity fundraiser. Despite the chaos, attendees enjoyed a brief escape from daily tensions, recalling childhood fun.
