A New Orleans attack suspect, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a 42-year-old US Army veteran, rammed a truck into a crowd and opened fire during New Year's Day celebrations, killing 15 and injuring 30. The FBI is investigating possible links to ISIS after discovering an ISIS flag on his vehicle. Jabbar posted videos expressing allegiance to ISIS and plans to harm his family before changing targets. Explosives were also found in the truck. President Joe Biden condemned the "despicable" act and stated the FBI is probing connections to a Las Vegas Tesla truck fire. Jabbar was killed in a shootout with police.
