Speaking ahead of the Joint Parliamentary Committee meeting on January 8, Meghwal stated that the initiative aligns with Article 368 of the Constitution. He also highlighted the government's commitment to implementing a Uniform Civil Code (UCC), referencing its inclusion in BJP’s manifesto. "UCC has already been implemented in Goa and legislated in Uttarakhand," Meghwal said. Prime Minister Modi has stressed its importance for secular governance, citing support from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar during constitutional debates.
