Bollywood rapper Badshah appeared at the Maharashtra Cyber office on Monday regarding an FIR filed against him and 40 others for allegedly promoting IPL matches on betting app Fairplay. Media firm Viacom 18, which had broadcasting rights, accused Fairplay of illegal streaming and said actors promoted IPL on the app linked to the Mahadev betting app. Badshah is among those summoned so far in the digital piracy case, with more actors likely to be called. Police filed charges over violation of India's anti-gambling laws by celebrities endorsing IPL on a betting platform.
