Cyclone Fengal, currently over the Southwest Bay of Bengal, is set to make landfall near Puducherry on November 30, with wind speeds of 70-90 kmph, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is expected in Tamil Nadu districts, including Chennai, Kancheepuram, and Villupuram, and Puducherry. Schools and colleges in Puducherry will remain closed on November 29-30. Authorities have issued warnings for rough seas, advising fishermen to stay ashore. The Eastern Naval Command has activated disaster response teams to mitigate risks. Residents in low-lying coastal areas are urged to stay alert and follow safety guidelines.
