The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) clarified on November 29, 2024, that India has not received any request from US authorities regarding an arrest warrant for industrialist Gautam Adani. The statement followed reports that US prosecutors had indicted Adani for allegedly orchestrating a $265 million bribery scheme. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal emphasized that this is a legal matter between private entities and the US Department of Justice. The Indian government is not involved, as such legal matters require formal requests, which have not been received from the US.
