Cyclone Fengal to Make Landfall Near Tamil Nadu-Puducherry Coasts; High Alert Issued

Cyclone Fengal, currently a deep depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal, is set to weaken further before crossing Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram on November 30, the IMD reported. Wind speeds of 45-55 km/h, gusting up to 65 km/h, and moderate to heavy rainfall are expected. Schools and colleges in Puducherry remain closed. Fishermen have been advised to avoid the sea. The Indian Navy has activated a disaster response plan. Jharkhand may see partial cloud cover and a 2-3°C temperature rise, though rain is unlikely. Residents in affected areas are urged to follow safety guidelines.
