External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, during the launch of the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) website, stated, "Under PM Modi's leadership, the Indian government gives the highest priority to the well-being of the 35 million-strong Indian diaspora." The PBD Convention, scheduled for January 2025 in Bhubaneswar, will focus on the theme "Diaspora’s Contribution to a Viksit Bharat." Jaishankar called the diaspora "a pillar of strength" in addressing global challenges. Odisha Chief Minister Majhi urged the diaspora to explore the state's cultural heritage. Registration for the event is now open via the newly launched PBD website.
