Ujjal Dosanjh, a former Canadian minister, criticized Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, calling him an “idiot” for his approach to Sikh issues. Dosanjh, once a member of parliament with Trudeau, said Trudeau never understood that most Sikhs in Canada are secular and do not support Khalistan, a separatist movement. Dosanjh claimed Trudeau’s stance has “emboldened” Khalistani extremists and created fear among moderate Sikhs. He also said Trudeau’s actions have turned the Khalistan issue into a Canadian problem. Dosanjh advised Trudeau to mend ties with India by showing respect and starting fresh diplomatic efforts.
