India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) criticized Canada’s recent National Cyber Threat Assessment report for categorizing India as a “cyber adversary,” calling it a strategic move by Canada to "attack" India. The report, published earlier this week, listed India alongside countries like China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea, accusing India of state-sponsored hacking. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal condemned the label, calling the accusations baseless and alleging that Canadian officials openly seek to “manipulate global opinion” against India. Tensions between the countries have intensified since Canada’s September allegations linking India to the killing of Khalistan extremist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
