Vasundhara Oswal, daughter of Swiss-Indian billionaire Pankaj Oswal, has been detained in Uganda since October 1 on charges linked to an alleged kidnapping plot involving former employee Mukesh Menaria. Her family claims she was taken by armed men from the Oswal family’s alcohol plant and denied basic rights, including access to a lawyer, contact with family, and hygienic facilities. Menaria, reportedly found in Tanzania, accused the Oswals of attempting to kill him. Pankaj Oswal has appealed to the UN and Ugandan authorities, alleging political manipulation behind his daughter’s prolonged detention.
