External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar credited India’s military and diplomatic efforts for achieving a significant breakthrough in disengagement along the India-China Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. The disengagement, which began on October 25 at Depsang and Demchok, is set to conclude by October 29, allowing both nations to resume patrolling on October 30-31. Jaishankar emphasized the importance of "standing our ground," and noted that the process of normalizing relations will take time. He also highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s role in facilitating discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping, fostering collaboration between military and diplomatic channels.
