Cyclone Dana is expected to make landfall tonight near Odisha's Bhitarkanika and Dhamra, with wind speeds projected between 100-120 km per hour. Authorities in both Odisha and West Bengal are on high alert, with evacuations of vulnerable populations already underway. Flight and rail services have been suspended in preparation for the cyclone's impact. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts that the cyclone will cross the coast between Puri and Sagar Island, starting late Thursday night and continuing into Friday morning. IMD's Director-General, Mrutyunjay Mohapatra, indicated that landfall will occur with maximum wind speeds around 120 km/h.
