'Can You Find Any Audis?': Family of Ex-Indian Official Vikash Yadav Rejects US Charges in Pannun Case

The family of Vikash Yadav, a former Indian official indicted by the US for allegedly plotting to kill Khalistani leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, has rejected the charges. Yadav, 39, is accused of directing another Indian citizen, Nikhil Gupta, to hire a hitman for $15,000 to assassinate Pannun. Yadav’s cousin, Avinash Yadav, expressed disbelief, citing the family’s modest living conditions and asking, “Can you find any Audis or Mercedes outside this house?” The US Department of Justice indicted Yadav last week, and his whereabouts are currently unknown. The Indian government has not confirmed his involvement with intelligence services.
