India has stated that Canada has not provided evidence to support claims of Indian involvement in the killing of pro-Khalistan separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau previously accused Indian officials of being linked to Nijjar’s death, but India dismissed the allegations as "absurd." Canada recently expelled six Indian diplomats, which India responded to by expelling six Canadian diplomats. While Canada claims it has shared credible evidence, Indian officials maintain that no proof has been provided. Nijjar was designated a terrorist by India before being killed in British Columbia in June 2023.
