PM Modi: "Conflicts Hurting Global South," Calls for Rule-Based Indo-Pacific at East Asia Summit

At the East Asia Summit in Vietnam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated, “The conflicts going on in different parts of the world are having the most negative impact on the Global South.” He called for respecting sovereignty, territorial integrity, and international laws, stressing that, “solutions to problems cannot come from the battlefield.” Modi emphasized the need for a rule-based Indo-Pacific, saying, “Free, open, inclusive, and rule-based Indo-Pacific is important for the progress of the entire region.” He also highlighted terrorism as a global threat and met U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken during the summit.
