At the 79th UN General Assembly, India’s External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, called for the return of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) to India, stating, "The only issue left to be resolved is the return of PoK." He strongly criticized Pakistan’s cross-border terrorism, asserting that its terror policies will not succeed. Jaishankar condemned Pakistan's actions, adding that the country’s internal turmoil is a result of its "karma." He also highlighted global crises, urging the international community to uphold the principles of the UN and respect international law. His comments came after Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif raised the Kashmir issue at the UN.
