Hurricane Helene has resulted in at least 43 deaths and left millions without power across the southeastern United States as of Friday. Emergency services are conducting rescues using boats, helicopters, and large vehicles to reach those stranded in floodwaters, including approximately 50 workers and patients who were trapped on the roof of a flooded hospital in Tennessee. Helene made landfall overnight on Thursday, becoming the most powerful storm recorded in Florida's Big Bend region. The hurricane has since moved north into Georgia and the Carolinas, with preliminary estimates indicating that the damage could total billions of dollars.
