Heavy rain continues to disrupt Mumbai, prompting the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to close all schools and colleges on Sept 26. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for Mumbai and neighboring areas, warning of thunderstorms, gusty winds up to 50 km/h, and rainfall exceeding 204.5 mm.
