Incessant rainfall across Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) has caused the capital to exceed its annual and seasonal rainfall averages this September. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi surpassed the 1,000mm rainfall mark, its highest since 2021 and the second highest in the last decade. More heavy showers are expected throughout Saturday. The continuous rain since Wednesday night has caused waterlogging and traffic disruptions. On Friday, Palam recorded 54mm of rain, while Safdarjung logged 30.9mm in just three hours. Gurugram also recorded 18mm of rain between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, adding to the region's woes.
