This marks the first public admission by a Pakistani military leader of their involvement in Kargil, a conflict that Pakistan has often downplayed or denied. Munir emphasized the bravery of the Pakistani people, highlighting their sacrifices in wars dating back to 1948, 1965, and 1971.
