Protests in 25 Countries Demand Justice for Kolkata Rape-Murder of Trainee Doctor

Thousands of Indian community members across 130 cities in 25 countries protested on Sunday, demanding justice for last month's rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor in Kolkata. The protests began in Japan, Australia, Taiwan, and Singapore before spreading to Europe and the US, where 60 demonstrations were planned. Protestors, including many women in Stockholm, sang Bengali songs and demanded accountability for the crime. The suspect and a former principal of RG Kar Medical College have been arrested. The Supreme Court will hear the case today.
