Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri, director of The Kashmir Files, declined an invitation from the Oxford Union to debate the motion, "This House Believes in an Independent State of Kashmir." Agnihotri called the theme “offensive” and “anti-India,” stating, “I find it not just obnoxious but offensive... turning a tragedy into a parlor game.” He shared his response on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting how the debate challenges India’s sovereignty and disregards the trauma faced by Kashmiri Hindu victims.
