Gujarat is reeling from severe flooding after receiving 105% of its annual rainfall, prompting the Indian Army to deploy eight columns for relief operations across Vadodara, Jamnagar, Dwarka, Rajkot, Morbi, and Bhuj. The army, responding to a request from the Gujarat government, has rescued over 200 people, provided essential supplies, and conducted medical examinations. Flooding has resulted in 26 deaths and displaced around 17,800 people. The NDRF, SDRF, Air Force, and Coast Guard are also aiding in the rescue efforts. PM Narendra Modi has assured the state of the central government's full support.
