Pakistan has extended an invitation to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Islamabad on October 15-16. This was announced by Pakistan's Foreign Office spokesperson, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, during a weekly press briefing. The meeting, which will focus on cooperation in financial, economic, socio-cultural, and humanitarian areas, will be preceded by a ministerial meeting and several rounds of senior officials' meetings. As the host country, Pakistan will chair the SCO heads of government meeting, which is expected to see participation from other member states. An official confirmation on Modi's attendance is awaited.
