The United States has approved a $52.8 million Foreign Military Sale to India, which includes Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) sonobuoys and related equipment. This sale is intended to strengthen India's anti-submarine capabilities, particularly for its MH-60R helicopters. The announcement comes during Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s official visit to Washington, aimed at enhancing the U.S.-India strategic partnership. The U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) stated that this proposed sale will support U.S. foreign policy and national security objectives by improving the security of India, a key defense partner in the Indo-Pacific region. The sale underscores the growing defense cooperation between the two nations.
