Delhi Sees Record-Breaking Rainfall in August 2024, Highest in a Decade: IMD

Delhi has recorded 269.9 mm of rainfall in August 2024, the highest in the past decade, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). This surpasses the previous record of 269.1 mm set in August 2013. The number of rainy days in the city has also exceeded the average of 10.2 days for August. The increased precipitation reflects an unusual weather pattern for the city, marking a significant deviation from historical rainfall data and highlighting an exceptional monsoon season this year.
