Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir experienced two consecutive earthquakes early Tuesday morning. The first tremor, measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale, struck at 6:45 a.m., followed by a second quake of 4.8 magnitude seven minutes later. Both earthquakes originated in Baramulla, causing widespread panic but no reported injuries or property damage. The National Center for Seismology reported the first quake's depth as 5 km and the second at 10 km. Despite the tremors being felt throughout the region, authorities confirmed that no casualties have been reported.
