The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for extremely heavy rains in Madhya Maharashtra and East Madhya Pradesh, and heavy rain alerts in Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Uttarakhand, and other regions. In Maharashtra, a yellow alert has been issued in Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar, while an orange alert has been issued in Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg. Cloudbursts in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi, Shimla, and Kullu districts have resulted in 50 people missing and two deaths, with an alert issued till August 2. The IMD has warned of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in various parts of the country.
