Incessant rains have wreaked havoc in Maharashtra, with Pune and Mumbai being severely affected. In Pune, four people died in rain-related incidents, leading to Army deployment for evacuation efforts. Over 400 residents have been relocated from low-lying areas. Meanwhile, Mumbai is on red alert with heavy waterlogging disrupting traffic and flights. Schools and colleges have been shut down in multiple cities, including Thane and Palghar. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has assured airlifting of residents if necessary. The IMD forecasts continued heavy rainfall, urging citizens to stay indoors.
