Maharashtra is reeling under severe rain showers, with Mumbai witnessing its second-wettest July on record, receiving over 150 cm of rainfall. Pune and Kolhapur are also badly affected, with intense waterlogging and flooding reported. Tragedy struck in Pune, where three people were electrocuted while navigating a submerged road.
