Bengaluru is set to get a second international airport with a capacity of 100 million passengers annually, announced Karnataka Minister for Infrastructure MB Patil. The new airport will be built on 4,500-5,000 acres of land, with a high-level committee deciding its location. The existing Kempegowda International Airport is expected to reach full capacity by 2035, necessitating the new project. The second airport will foster Bengaluru's growth as a global city, with potential locations including Kanakapura Road, Mysuru Road, Magadi, Doddaballapura, Dabaspete, and Tumakuru.
