Two Indian-origin Singaporean men, Ishan Sharma and Kandhiban Letchumanansamy, were jailed for their roles in a US scam. Sharma, 34, received a four-week sentence for instigating his friend into negligence, while Kandhiban, 36, got a week for failing to oversee company affairs. They orchestrated scams through over 50 companies, with two receiving more than USD 1 million from victims. Sharma, a chartered accountant, earned SGD 12,000 for his involvement. The scam proceeds were remitted to other companies in China and the UAE.
