Maharashtra CM Vows Zero Tolerance for Hit-and-Run Offenders

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has vowed zero tolerance against hit-and-run offenders, following two fatal incidents in Mumbai and Pune. Shinde promised strict laws and harsh penalties, regardless of the offender's political connections or wealth. His statement comes after a Shiv Sena leader's son allegedly killed a woman in a BMW hit-and-run, and a Pune constable died in a similar incident. Shinde tweeted that he is "deeply alarmed" by the rising number of hit-and-run cases and pledged to take action. The state government aims to curb such incidents with tougher laws and penalties.
