At least seven people died and 10 others were injured when a six-storey building collapsed on Saturday in Surat's Sachin area amid heavy rains. Rescue teams, including SDRF and NDRF, are actively searching for survivors, with 6-7 people still believed to be trapped under the debris. The incident occurred around 3 p.m., with initial reports indicating that the building, which had 30 flats, had 4-5 occupied. Many residents were either at work or sleeping after night shifts when the collapse happened. The rescue operation is ongoing.
