The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an ‘orange’ alert for 15 states, including Delhi, and a ‘red’ alert for Gujarat due to forecasts of heavy rainfall. On July 3, Delhi is expected to experience moderate to heavy rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds, while Gujarat faces extremely heavy downpours. Northern and northeastern states are also bracing for significant rainfall, with northeastern areas experiencing flooding and landslides. The southwest monsoon has now covered the entire country six days ahead of schedule, despite a slow start in June.
