A YouTuber, Mohammed Sabir Ali, has been arrested for running a gold smuggling operation at Chennai airport. Ali's souvenir shop, Airhub, was a front for the illegal activity. The Sri Lankan syndicate behind the scam recruited Ali after seeing his YouTube videos. They helped him secure the shop's lease and dictated its operations. Customs officials seized 267 kg of gold worth ₹167 crore and arrested seven of Ali's employees. The bust exposes the creative methods used by smuggling syndicates to evade authorities. Ali's YouTube channel, "shoppingboyz," had no connection to the smuggling operation.
