Heavy rains flooded the Sukhi River in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, on Saturday, causing cars to be swept away. Locals often park on the typically dry riverbed. The Uttarakhand Police advised using designated parking lots and confirmed no loss of life. Videos showed submerged streets and cars floating away. The State Disaster Response Force rescued vehicles caught in the water. Authorities warned residents and visitors to avoid the river. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast more heavy rain and issued an 'Orange Alert' for June 30 and July 1.
