IMD Issues Red Alert for Heavy Rain in Seven States, Flash Floods Expected

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for extremely heavy rainfall in seven states until July 4. These states include Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Gujarat, Assam, and Meghalaya. Uttarakhand is also on red alert for July 2. An orange alert is in place for Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Goa until July 5. The IMD warns of flash floods in Uttarakhand, Goa, Karnataka, and other regions within the next 24 hours. The active monsoon is expected to continue over the next 4-5 days.
