Tragedy Strikes Indian Army in Ladakh: 5 Soldiers Drown in Flash Floods

Five Indian Army personnel, including a junior commissioned officer, lost their lives in a tragic accident near the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh. The tank they were in sank due to flash floods in the Shyok River while de-inducting from a military training exercise. Rescue efforts failed due to high water levels and strong currents. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge expressed condolences to the bereaved families. The Indian Army has regretted the loss of its brave personnel and is continuing rescue operations.
