An under-construction bridge in Madhubani, Bihar, collapsed on June 28, marking the fifth bridge failure in the state within 11 days. The 77-meter-long bridge, costing Rs 3 crore, saw its girder fall between two pillars. This incident follows similar collapses, including the first reported in Araria on June 18. The Madhubani administration allegedly attempted to conceal the damage by covering the collapsed section with plastic. The frequent collapses have raised serious concerns about construction quality and oversight in Bihar, prompting calls for a thorough investigation into the state's infrastructure projects.
