The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall over northwest India from June 28 to 30. With a 19% rain deficiency across the country, northwest India faces a 57% deficit while central India has a 23% shortfall. Monsoon progress has been delayed by about a week, now forecasted to cover more regions including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and parts of Uttar Pradesh in the coming days. IMD has also alerted for potential flooding in Uttarakhand, East Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and West Uttar Pradesh during specific dates.
