The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for heavy rains in southern India, including Kerala, Karnataka, and Maharashtra. The southwest monsoon is expected to advance in the next three days, bringing isolated extremely heavy rainfall to Goa and the Konkan region by June 27. Meanwhile, heatwave conditions in west Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana will continue till Tuesday before subsiding. The IMD has forecast favorable conditions for the monsoon to advance in North Arabian Sea, Gujarat, and other parts of the country in the next three days.
