Atleast 6 Heat-related Deaths in Metro Phoenix This Year as High Hits 115 Degrees

A devastating heat wave has claimed at least six lives in metro Phoenix, with 87 more deaths under investigation, according to the Maricopa County Department of Public Health. Temperatures soared to 115°F (46°C) on Thursday and Friday, making them the hottest days of 2024 so far. An excessive heat warning remains in effect, with some relief possible over the weekend. A 30% chance of rain is forecasted, which may bring a slight cool down to 110°F (43.3°C). However, temperatures are expected to rise again next week. The heat wave has affected much of the US, with numerous areas experiencing record-breaking temperatures.
