Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Delivers First LCA Tejas Twin-Seater Aircraft to Indian Air Force, Marks Milestone in Indigenous Defense Production

On Wednesday, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) handed over the first LCA Tejas twin-seater aircraft to the Indian Air Force in a ceremony attended by Union Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari. The Bengaluru-based company highlighted the aircraft's capabilities for training and its potential as a fighter. The LCA Tejas twin-seater, a 4.5-generation aircraft, incorporates advanced technologies like fly-by-wire flight control and digital avionics systems. HAL has an order of 18 twin-seaters, with plans to deliver eight in 2023-24 and the rest by 2026-27, and expects more orders from the IAF.
