Indian Railways successfully conducted a trial run of an eight-coach train on the Chenab Bridge, the world's highest railway bridge, in Jammu and Kashmir. The trial run marks a significant step towards starting rail operations on the Reasi-Baramulla route in Kashmir. The train traversed 46 km of electrified track, passing through nine tunnels, including the longest tunnel T-44. This is the first full train crossing on the iconic bridge, which spans the Chenab river. The trial run paves the way for the commencement of rail services in the region, connecting key stations in Reasi district, Jammu and Kashmir.
