As Delhi suffers from a severe heatwave, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts monsoon arrival in Delhi-NCR on June 30. Light rainfall and thunderstorms are expected to bring relief from the intense heat. A red alert for extreme heat is in place for West Uttar Pradesh and parts of Delhi until June 19. Temperatures in Delhi are expected to reach around 40°C. The IMD also issued an orange alert for Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi-NCR. East India will see a slight temperature drop over the next three days.
