₹ 12 Crore Bridge in Bihar Collapses Before Opening

A bridge in Bihar’s Araria district collapsed before its inauguration, despite costing ₹ 12 crore. The concrete bridge over the Bakra River tilted and then collapsed, with crowds capturing the moment on video. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The bridge aimed to connect Kursakanta and Sikti. Sikti MLA Vijay Kumar blamed the construction company’s negligence and demanded an investigation. Earlier this year, a similar incident occurred in Bihar’s Supaul, where an under-construction bridge collapse resulted in one death and several injuries. The incidents highlight ongoing issues with infrastructure safety in the region.
